You are filled with true, personal stories and you want to shepherd them from the brain and the heart to the page and publication. This workshop can help.
Over the course of seven weeks, in a small, hands-on setting, you and your workshopmates will transform your true stories into publishable pieces. Is your piece better suited to essay? Narrative? Prose poetry? An as-yet-unidentified form unique to you? This setting will help you determine that.
Each week, you may bring in a piece in whatever state — the roughest draft to nearly there — for feedback. The goal here is to help you take those stories in whatever their raw form and to shape them into a publishable piece/s.
Instructor Carol Dannhauser, who is a writer, editor, and Master Teaching Artist, will guide you. Her students have published best-selling and award-winning memoirs, flash memoir, micro memoir, essays, prose poetry, Tiny Love essays, Modern Love stories and Pushcart-nominated short stories. She is the co-founder of the Fairfield County Writers’ Studio.
