Detective Takacs brings more than 20 years of crime-fighting expertise to the Studio on September 4 at 7 p.m. when he sits down with mystery writer extraordinaire Tessa Wegert to help unravel the secrets of criminal investigations.
“Having direct access to a law enforcement professional who can answer questions and share expertise on topics like police procedure and criminal justice is invaluable,” says Tessa, who is the co-founder of Sisters in Crime-CT, serves on the board of International Thriller Writers (ITW), writes critically acclaimed books and teaches mystery and thriller writing here at the Studio. “Authenticity and accuracy are so important for creating fiction that rings true and resonates with readers. Detective Takacs is a lifelong Fairfield resident and 20-year veteran of the detective division in the Fairfield Police Department. He has been the lead investigator in bank, home and commercial robberies; and has investigated contractor fraud, financial crimes and crimes against the elderly. He is currently assigned to the Special Victims Unit as the domestic violence investigator.
