We love the holidays at FCWS but, it has to be said, they can be stressful. So here’s a quick, simple way to create calm in just a few minutes from Dr. Marc Seifer, a graphologist and handwriting expert who wrote The Definitive Book of Handwriting Analysis.
Seifer says that writing a calming sentence is a form of graphotherapy. Jotting down a sentence like, “I will be more peaceful” at least 20 times per day can actually have an impact, especially on those with attention deficit disorder.
“This actually calms the person down and retrains the brain,” Seifer says.
He also says that writing something in cursive can coordinate the left brain and the right brain, and taking pen to paper inspires more creative thought, because it is a slower process than just typing something on a keyboard.
