Helping Writers to Rise and Thrive

Creative Writing for Teens

Sundays, 3-5 p.m., begins Sept. 18
Linda Legters
Seven weeks, $295

Note: This workshop is for teenaged participants.

Take your ideas from imagination to the page by sharing your passion with fellow writing enthusiasts. Learn how professional authors make their stories so compelling. Write and share your own short stories, novel chapters, novel outlines, fantasy fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction or whatever inspires and drives you. Use autobiographical material or create an original world that propels dynamic characters through conflicts, quests or adventures. This workshop will provide pressure-free opportunities to develop and share work-in-progress, new work and ideas that are on the horizon.

Novelist, mother and instructor extraordinaire Linda Legters loves working with teens. Her stories have appeared in numerous journals, including Glimmer Train, Alaska Quarterly Review and Calliope. Her novel Connected Underneath was released in April and her next novel, The Vanishing Point, will be released in May 2017. Linda holds an MFA in writing from Vermont College and has taught writing – fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama – both publicly and privately for more than 10 years. She teaches I Want to Writer, Now What?! and Fiction Writing at the Fairfield County Writers’ Studio.
