Good for you for tackling National Novel Writing Month! Now comes the hard part: generating a 50,000-word manuscript that more or less makes sense.

If you get stuck, we can help. The Studio’s Stephanie Lehmann is our favorite novel-whisperer. She is a critically acclaimed author, awesome teacher, and manuscript diagnostician like no other. Stephanie will meet with you (virtually) one-on-one to help get you through your roadblocks.

Confused about scenes? Stuck with your plot? Bored with your dialogue? A session or two with Stephanie might be all that you need to get your book back on the path to success!

Stephanie’s novel “Aster Place Vintage” (Simon and Schuster) was selected by Library Journal as a best novel in 2013, and by Kirkus Reviews for best summer reading. Her earlier novels include “The Art of Undressing” (Penguin), “You Could do Better” (Penguin), “Are You In the Mood” (Kensington), and “Thoughts While Having Sex” (Kensington). In addition to the Fairfield County Writers’ Studio, Stephanie has taught novel writing at Mediabistro, the West Side YMCA in Manhattan, and at Salon.com, where her essays have been published.

Stephanie worked for many years as a literary agent and editor at the Elaine Koster Literary Agency (The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Fear of Flying by Erica Jong, The Shining by Stephen King). She’s smart, and fun, and great to work with!
