Writers’ Workshop

  • Thursdays, 12:30-2:30, Begins May 11 (Does not meet May 18)
  • Carol Dannhauser
  • Six weeks, $350, Limit Six Participants

Over the years, this workshop has served as a springboard for memoirs, magazine stories, novels, poems, essays and Pushcart-nominated short stories. It’s the ultimate writers’ workshop!

Writers from all genres are welcome.

Each week, we’ll experiment with different genres and writing forms. You will receive an assignment designed to elicit a piece of writing. (You do not have to do it, and you may bring in a work already in progress.) As you workshop the piece, you will receive direction, tools, tips and techniques from the instructor, as well as feedback from other writers around the table. The goal is to make you a more nimble writer, to help you find and develop your voice and your stories, and to provide you with more and sharper tools to bring to the table when you write.

Whether you’re blocked, unsure, tired of looking at your pieces or simply looking for guidance and inspiration, this workshop is for you.

The instructor, Carol Dannhauser, has won numerous awards for her television, magazine, newspaper, memoir and short-fiction writing, and is the author of four books of non-fiction. She was named a master teaching artist (writing) by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and has taught writers across genre for more than 15 years. She is the co-founder of the Fairfield County Writers’ Studio.

Limited to six participants.
