Writing for Magazines
Anyone who tells you that magazines are dead doesn’t know what veteran magazine writer Beth Levine knows: Hundreds and hundreds of general interest and niche publications exist and they rely on freelance writers to supply them with content.
In this workshop, Beth will help you learn how to find salable ideas, and how to craft them into focused articles targeted at specific readers. The workshop covers point-of-view, creating compelling narratives, conducting interviews and research, developing an expertise and more. Participants also learn tips, tools and techniques to getting published, including how to approach a magazine, terminology you should know, working with editors and more.
This workshop is ideal for writers eager to break into the magazine industry, as well as for those eager to expand their portfolios.
Beth is a seasoned writer whose work appears in O, The Oprah Magazine; Woman’s Day, Redbook, and many other publications. See her bio here.
